Southern Railway Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Level 2:

• 12th Pass (+2 stage) with at least 50% aggregate (not mandatory for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen under NTPC categories).
• OR Matriculation with Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (Technician categories).
• OR Matriculation with ITI approved by NCVT (Technician categories).

Level 1:

• 10th Pass OR ITI OR equivalent.
• OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
• OR 10th Pass + NAC from NCVT OR 10th Pass + ITI.

Southern Railway Scouts & Guides Quota Requirements

• Membership: Must be a President’s Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder.
• Active Participation: Must have been an active member of a Scouts organization for the last five years (2019-20 to 2024-25).
• National/State Level Events: Should have attended:
• At least two National Level OR All India Railway Level events.
• At least two State Level events.
• Certificate of Activeness: As per Annexure-I in the notification.

Age Limit (as of 01.01.2025)

• Level 2: 18 to 30 years
• Level 1: 18 to 33 years

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD (General/EWS): 10 years
• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
• PwBD (OBC): 13 years
• Ex-Servicemen: As per government norms
