TN MRB Assistant Surgeon (General) Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

1. Assistant Surgeon (General) – Degree in MBBS Must be a registered practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914, Must have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for a period of not less than twelve months, Candidates should have registered their name in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council on or before the date of this Notification (21.11.2025)

Age Limit for TN MRB:

• SC/ST/SCA/MBC/OBC/BC/BCM Candidates – No Maximum Age Limit 
• for Other – Maximum 37 Years
• Differently Abled Candidates – Maximum 47 Years
• Ex Serviceman Candidates – Maximum 48 Years

Salary Details:

1. Assistant Surgeon (General) – Rs.56100/- to 205700/- Per Month

Application & Exam Registration Fees:

Selection Process:

• Based on marks in the Computer Based Test (CBT) Subject Paper and incentive marks for COVID-19 duty, following reservation rules. No Oral Test (Interview).
• CBT (Subject Paper): Objective type, 100 questions (Undergraduate level), Duration: 2:00 Hours, Maximum Marks: 100.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30% for SC/SCA/ST, 35% for Others.
• Tamil Language Eligibility Test (*): SSLC Standard Level, Duration: 1:00 Hour, Maximum Marks: 50. Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40% (Marks not for ranking). Exempted for Differently Abled Persons.
• Incentive Marks for COVID Duty: Up to Five Marks are awarded for service rendered in Government Medical Institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
