The Tamil Nadu Medical Recruitment Board, which is part of the Tamil Nadu Government, has announced the Tamilnadu MRB Recruitment 2026 Notification for 299 job openings, including positions for Assistant Surgeon (General). Assistant Surgeon (General): MBBS qualified Medical officers possessing additional qualification to the extent of MD/MS/DNB/Diploma/Diploma in DNB/ Superspeciality (MCH) in the respective specialities, Must be a registered practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914. ii. Must have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for a period of not less than twelve months. iii. Candidates should have registered their name in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council* iv. If a candidate claims that the educational qualification possessed by him/her is equivalent though not the same as those prescribed for the Tamilnadu MRB Recruitment 2026 appointment the onus of proof rests with the candidate. v. The Postgraduate degree or diploma holders possessing PG Qualifications, after MBBS, recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) shall be eligible for recruitment in the respective institutions appropriate to their speciality, and recruited as per the suitability of their degree, diploma or equivalent qualification.
