Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification for Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited:

• Draftsman (Mechanical), Electrician, Fitter, Structural Fitter – The candidate should have Passed SSC in with General Science & Mathematics, Securing minimum Fifty Percentage marks in aggregate for General / OBC/ SEBC/EWS/DIVYANG/ AFC, Pass Class for SC/ST Only. In case of passing criteria is best of five subjects taken, General Science and Mathematics Should be the Part of the Qualifying Board Curriculum & Applicant should have passed, Otherwise Application will be rejected. Though the qualifying criteria is SSC, the candidates with Higher qualification may also apply. However, eligibility will be based on SSC marks qualification only.
• Pipe Fitter – The candidate should have passed SSC, Securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General / OBC SEBC/EWS / DIVYANG/AFC, • Pass Class for SC/ST Only, Though the qualifying criteria is SSC, the candidates with Higher qualification may also apply. However, eligibility will be based on SSC/Matriculation marks qualification only. Deaf and Hearing Impaired (HI) category Candiates will be considered in Pipe Fitter Trade only.
• Structural Fitter (Ex. ITI Fitter), Draftsman (Mechanical), Electrician, ICTSM, Refrigeration and Air- conditioning (RAC), Electronic Mechanic, Painter (General), Fitter/Plumber, Welder, Computer Operator & Programming Assistant, Wood Work Technician/ Carpenter – Passed ITI in Fitter / Draftsman (Mechanical) / Electrician/ICTSM / Electronic Mechanic/ Plumber / Welder / Computer Operator & Programming Assistant / Carpenter or Wood Work Technician / Refrigeration and Airconditioning (RAC) trades from Govt./ Govt recognized Institute. Securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General/OBC/ SEBC/EWS/DIVYANG / AFC, Only Pass Class for SC/ST. Applicants undergoing their course under semester system are required to pass backlog papers of previous semesters if any & it should be dully certified by Head of the institute. Applicant should have passed ITI in above trades only, however in case of Fitter-Structural trade, applicants belonging to ITI Fitter Trade can apply. Applicants appearing in the final exam for above said trades only, can apply but they will be required to pass the final exam on or before 01-10-2026. Applicants passing ITI after 1st Oct 2026 will not be considered.
• Rigger, Welder (Gas & Electric) – 8th Std. under (10+ 2) system Passed with Science & Mathematics. Securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General/OBC/ SEBC/EWS / DIVYANG / AFC, • Pass Class for SC/ST Only. Though the qualifying criterion is 8th Std, the candidates with Higher qualification may also apply. However, eligibility will be based on 8th Std. qualification only.

TN DHS Age Limit:

• Group A (10th Class Passed) – 15 to 19 Years
• Group B (I.T.I Passed) – 16 to 21 Years
• Group C (8th Class Passed) – 14 to 18 Years

Relaxation of Upper age limit:

• +5 Years for ST/SC Candidate
• +3 Years for OBC (NCL) Candidate
• Persons with Disabilities candidate:
• +10 Years for UR Candidate
• +13 Years for OBC (NCL) Candidate
• +15 Years for ST/SC Candidate
• For Ex-Servicemen Applicants: As per Govt. Policy
